As one of the UK’s leading community organisations, KYP prides itself in its ethos of community empowerment. Being in the community for over 30 years we’ve gained vast experience in recognizing and removing barriers for the local residents – after all, our overarching aim is for the residents of Rochdale to be vibrant members of a thriving society. In line with this vision, we provide an on-site Day Nursery as well as an Elders Day Care Centre, effectively removing two of the largest barriers to employment, training or enterprise – Child care and Adult care. To overcome the language barrier issues, KYP runs ESOL classes in Rochdale as well as Bury.

We are also proud to announce that KYP will be a delivery partner for the DWP’s new Welfare to Work Program, Flexible New Deal. We will provide extensive help for residents who have been unemployed for 12 months or more to get back into sustainable employment.

For those seeking self-employment as an alternative, KYP is offering free business support services to residents of Rochdale and Oldham. The level of support can vary depending on client need.

We also run a number of small, high impact community focused projects like the Ethnic Minority Women in Employment and the Carers Resource Project.

If you’d like to know more about what we do, or how we can help you, please feel free to browse the site or give us a call.

Join the relief efforts to help the families affected by the worst flooding in Pakistan in 80 years.

Following the unprecedented and continuing monsoon rains, more than 17 million people have now been affected, with the death toll currently standing at over 1600. The United Nations estimates that nearly a million people have lost their homes or have been forced to flee, while the UN World Food Programme says some £1.8 million in food aid is needed, as a start.

With the unfortunate spread of waterborne diseases like cholera, this is a humanitarian catastrophe.

Let’s show our support to the people in need. Just as we did in 2005 in the aftermath of the Kashmir Earthquake, let’s come together and show our commitment to those who need it most.

Please call us on 01706 630140 or email appeal@kyp.org.uk to find out what we are doing and what you can do to help.
