Childcare

Welcome to KYP Training Services. As part of our training provision, we offer part time apprenticeship courses at levels 2 and 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. These apprenticeships are designed for people aged 16-25 years, who either want to work with, or who are already working with, children or young people. As an apprentice, the exact nature of your job role will be determined by your employer.

The Level 2 Apprenticeship is for those working under supervision such as nursery assistants, pre-school assistants or playgroup assistants.

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is for those who work on their own initiative, planning and organising their own work and/or supervising others. These would include, for example, nursery nurses, playgroup leaders or childminders working in their own home.

An apprenticeship is made up of several components, all of which must be completed successfully to obtain the qualification. These are:

Technical Certificate
NVQ Level 2 or 3
Key Skills

We offer a roll-on roll-off programme, which means that you can start your course at any time during the year. You will be required to work in a childcare environment as an apprentice or to be employed where possible. You will attend the KYP Training Centre for a half day per week, where you will develop your knowledge and understanding of Early Years. The day on which you attend the KYP Training Centre will be mutually agreed between yourself and your employer.

If you are interested in this Apprenticeship programme, or would like any additional information, please contact Rachel Knowles on 01706 516612.
